Allow Me To Introduce Myself

Me

My name is Leslie Erin Therese: Leslie after dad and grandpa, Erin because mom liked it, Therese (my confirmation name) after St. Therese of Lisieux. My birthday is September 19. I have a degree in computer science and am an ex-programmer, though I still do some web stuff for fun. My current job description includes breastfeeding and diaper changing, and I LOVE it. I don't miss working at all. I am a procrastinator, and a perfectionist. I am Catholic. I was confirmed Catholic and received my first Eucharist on April 10, 2004. I was raised Methodist and that is a whole other story.

Family

I married my best friend on June 9, 2007. Joe and I met and became friends in college (ironically we sort of met because of my ex-boyfriend); started dating February 14, 2003 (ironically that was 3 days after I broke up with aforementioned ex); Joe proposed February 3, 2006; and we were married a little over a year later. Our favorite things to do together are pretty much anything and everything. We love to travel and explore new places (even close to home), go out to eat, see movies, go to sporting events, you name it. Joe, especially, likes to get out and DO things; and I love being along for the ride. I also love to navigate, take us off the beaten path and see what there is to see.

Our wedding was the start of our new family, and right away God saw fit to expand it. Our son John Archie was born March 30, 2008 and is named after his proud grandfathers. It is a blast watching him grow and learn and develop his own personality. We are doing our best to savor every minute!

Anticlimactically, we also have a fluffy grey cat named Asher. He might not be the brightest (and he may have been relegated to the sidelines once the baby came along) but we still love him. Well, I do anyway.

Our Home

I grew up near Syracuse, in the country on top of a hill; Joe grew up near Buffalo, in the suburbs close to everything. Joe loves cities and would like nothing better than to live downtown and walk or take mass transit to wherever he needs to go. I'm a small-town girl through and through, I like to visit the city but I wouldn't want to live in one. Now we live in a valley, outside a nice little village, and close enough to the city where Joe doesn't feel totally isolated.

We live in a dorm (well, an apartment attached to a dorm) at the boarding school where Joe teaches. It's not the life we would have pictured, but apparently it was what God had in mind, and He knows better! Now we couldn't picture ourselves anywhere else. Life is busy and hectic (for Joe anyway; and by extension, me too) during the school year, but the time off is glorious and there are a lot of perks to living on campus.
